Nightstick had been a beat cop before joining the military and becoming a Military Police officer. Served at Camp Pendelton outside San Diego when he was recruited to the GI Joe team. Nightstick was instrumental in holding off Cobra forces when they invaded the Pit in Egypt, and has been used in several missions since.
Bullet was a stray who found his way onto a GI Joe base in Tusmania. The team began feeding her, and she quickly became fond of the team, though takes particular interest in Nightstick. She is not what would be considered a military canine, but has instead taken on the role of protector of the GI Joe team. Since then, she has been instrumental in many guard dog activities for many of the teams outposts.

"It should be noted that Bullet is not Nightsticks dog. Sure they have a certain teamwork ability, but Bullet is more of a mascot than an MP canine. They just work so well together, that they have become inseperable." (From Gen. Hawks own assessment file).
